What is the cost associated with a charter flight?

The cost of a charter flight is expensive due to the costs associated with manufacturing, flying, and maintaining a safe aircraft. However, as a general rule of thumb, if you can fill most of the seats- or all of them, you will find the cost per person will be similar to the price of a first class airline ticket. In addition, you will have the comfort, convenience, extra service, and privacy of flying on your own aircraft - on your schedule!!

How do I decide where the closest airport is to my meeting?

Unlike airlines which serve 500 airports throughout the country. Air charter allows access to over 5,000 general & corporate aviation airports throughout the United States and Canada. All you need to do, is give us the address of your meeting, and we will locate the nearest airport. In addition, we can make all necessary ground transportation arrangements(limousine, rental car / suv, or town car & driver).

If my schedule changes, such as needed to stay an extra day, or add additional destinations, is that possible?

Air charter gives you increased productivity and no wasted time! We are on your schedule, thus, if you need to cut your trip short, add additional days, or even add another stop to visit family or meet with another customer- you have the flexibility to change your schedule.

What type of safety precautions does your company take?

All of our pilots are fully licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In addition, every 6 months, each pilot must take a flight proficiency check with an FAA authorized check-airmen. Then, every 12 months, the pilot must take a full flight check with a FAA authorized check-airmen. Also, each captain of a turbine-powered airplane (King Air, Citation Jets, and Lear Jet) goes to annual simulator training. Recently Jet Air has completed the necessary steps to become AR/GUS safety rated. And, we also have completed WYVERN Pass Safety rating. Safety is our number one priority and your safety is our highest concern!

Are you properly licensed to fly passengers, cargo, air ambulance - and insured?

Jet Air, Inc. is licensed by the FAA to provide Part 135 Air Carrier / Air Taxi Charter for: Passengers, Cargo (Hazmat), and Air Ambulance. In addition, we are certified by the Illinois and Iowa Departments of Health for Basic and Advanced Life Support Medical Transfers. Jet Air, Inc. currently carries $50 million liability on the jet aircraft, and $25 million liability on the King Air (or with two pilots = $50 million liability). Cessna twin engine aircraft have $2 million smooth liability.

What experience does your pilots have and will I have one or two pilots?

Each pilot that flies for Jet Air exceeds the minimum requirements set by the FAA for Air Charter operators. The average total time of the pilots that fly for us exceed industry standards by at least double! Each jet aircraft is operated with a crew of two pilots. The King Air and twin engine Cessna aircraft can be flown with one pilot, but at the request of the customer, a two pilot crew can be assigned..

How many bags can I take with me?

The amount of luggage you can take depends on the number of passengers and size of aircraft you are chartering. In most cases, you can comfortably take 3 bags per person. In certain aircraft, golf clubs and skis can be stowed in the storage area in either the exterior or interior baggage areas. Another nice feature of charter is you Eliminate Lost Bags!! No checking of baggage and waiting at the claim area like on the airlines!
