Jet Air has been serving the business aviation industry since 1969 and has continued to grow under the belief that hard work and diligence are among the most valuable of attributes. Jet Air is a family-oriented company which was set forth early on when the founder, Harrel Timmons, named the business after his wife Judith Ellen Timmons, “J.E.T.” In fact, the name “Jet Air” came about years before Jet Air owned and operated its first jet.
Today, Jet Air operates one of the largest jet charter fleets in the Midwest. Our reputation is built on 55+ years of fulfilling promises and building long-term relationships. Galesburg Aviation was founded by Harrel Timmons in Galesburg, IL as a full-service FBO with charter, air ambulance, maintenance, and aircraft sales.
The first National Stearman Fly-In was hosted in Galesburg with the help of Galesburg Aviation. Jet Air continues to sponsor and host this event every September.
The company was renamed "Jet Air, Inc." after Harrel's wife and business partner, Judith Ellen Timmons "J.E.T."
With the "internet age" in full swing, Jet Air began posting aircraft for sale online and significantly expands the aircraft sales wing of the business.
Jet Air purchased and added their first jet, a Citation 500, to the charter certificate which until that time had consisted only of Twin-Cessna and King Air aircraft.
Jet Air expands to Iowa City, IA as the full-service FBO.
Jet Air expands to Burlington, IA as the full-service FBO.
Harrel Timmons was inducted into the Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame.
Jet Air completed construction of an additional corporate hangar Hangar "M" in Iowa City
After again outgrowing space with more managed aircraft, Jet Air completed the construction of Hangar "N" in Iowa City.
Jet Air expands to Macomb, IL as the full-service FBO.
Jet Air acquires Revv Aviation’s operations in Davenport, IA; Muscatine, IA; and Moline, IL.
